Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir
Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir |
Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir
The Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir is a special edition, created for the true automotive connoisseur. While its entirely black exterior may initially appear subdued, upon closer inspection it becomes clear that a select number of visual accents make this special Bugatti Veyron just as vividly coloured as its brighter counterparts.
Similar to its thoroughbred predecessor, the Type 57S Atlantic, the Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir exposes a raptor-like DNA that is reflected throughout the entire model history of the marque.
Even the hand-stitched, all-leather interior of the Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir plays on the theme of a 'harmony of extremes'. The light and confident Tangerine is offset by a black-piano lacquer finished centre console; both available exclusively to this edition. A dominant black tinted carbon fibre monocoque joins the elegant black body sides, which in turn are complemented by polished details.
The face of the Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir is instantly recognisable due to the iconic horseshoe grill, finished exclusively in chrome.
This striking and unparalleled harmony between luxury and sportiness is complemented by alloy-coloured details in the form of the chromed Bugatti grill and door-mirrors, as well as polished wheel surfaces and roof-rails. All-black front lights, air intakes, filler caps and door-handles naturally heighten the stunning effect of the racing-blue brake callipers.
Of the Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir 15 cars will be built and offered in Europe, the Middle East and the United States.

VW IROC Concept
Comeback of a successful idea: 33 years ago at the international Motor Show in Geneva Volkswagen presented a sensational coupé. It was compact, distinctive, agile, spacious and affordable. Volkswagen called it the Scirocco. The car struck the nerve of the times: More than half a million first generation Sciroccos were produced worldwide. Turning point: In August 2006 the largest car maker in Europe is showing the reinterpretation of the successful Scirocco idea in a world premiere - the Iroc concept.
New VW sports car design: Like the first Scirocco with its visual straightforwardness the Iroc also marks a stylistic turning point through its progressively designed radiator grill and a distinctive sensuality of forms. The concept of both Volkswagens is closely related, even though the vehicles are separated by over three decades: The first generation Scirocco was an attainable dream car for many people. Because the Scirocco was an automotive superstar of the 70's, styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro and equipped with four full-fledged seats, a proper trunk, large hatchback and a lot of self-esteem. The Iroc concept takes up this fascinating idea again.
Purebred sports car instead of a classic coupé: However, in contrast to the original Scirocco the Iroc is no classic coupé, but a progressively designed sports car with an extremely long roof and a comparatively steep rear end. This has two advantages. Firstly: The Iroc features sharp proportions. Especially when viewed from behind it becomes immediately apparent that this long roof together with side window sections is situated on very broad and powerful shoulders. The Iroc thus achieves a waist of flawless sports car theory. Secondly: The Iroc also has room in back for two adults and ample luggage. On balance the provocatively designed Iroc combines a high degree of suitability for daily use, pure driving fun and expressive design into a Volkswagen that as a possible series-production vehicle will also be very attractively positioned in terms of price.
2006 Volkswagen IROC Concept
Viper green meets dark carbon: The Iroc concept exhibits numerous subtleties in detail. Paint example: Although anything but retro styled, the green used is an homage to the first generation Scirocco for which this exact shade of color was especially typical starting with the 1976 model. Then as now it's called "viper green metallic". This glaring green of the Iroc is especially effective in combination with the high contrast black shades of the concept. Carbon example: The central roof element is composed of dark tinted glass; this element is supported by a structure covered with carbon. An integrated lengthwise support is also a part of these materials. The side sills of the Iroc also have a carbon surface. The structure of the sill visible from outside continues seamlessly into the interior.
Sexy dimensions: With its short overhangs the Iroc efficiently utilizes a wheelbase of 2,680 mm for the space provided inside. The concept is 1,400 mm high, 4,240 mm long and 1,800 mm wide. The light-alloy rims specially designed for the Iroc and 235 tires are implemented in 19 inch size.
Twincharger and DSG: The Iroc is powered by a TSI engine, referred to in-house as a Twincharger. Shifting tasks are handled by the DSG direct shift gearbox. About the Twincharger: First employed in the Golf GT in 2006, TSI engines are currently the most efficient four-cylinder gasoline engines in the world. The combination of compressor and turbocharger shows the path to the future. The compressor compensates for the typical powering up weaknesses of turbo-only gasoline engines at low rpms. The turbocharger in contrast packs a mighty punch at higher revs. The combination of both superchargers in large-volume productionengines is the only one of its kind in the world. The TSI version used in the concept achieves 155 kW / 210 hp. In principle, a large range of supercharged engines are conceivable for the Iroc that could start significantly under 110 kW / 150 hp. But there's one thing every engine theoretically employed in the Iroc has to guarantee: Driving fun.

Rover 45 |
Rover 45
The exterior style changes to the Rover 45 include a new front bumper design, a deeper integral front grille and twin lens headlamps and integrated indicator lamps, beneath a tough clear cover, that together give the 45 a much fresher and entirely more modern face.
At the rear the treatment is even more substantial, with a new, more angular rear bumper with re-positioned number plate, and a clean-panel rear boot / tailgate treatment giving a more defined rear appearance, enhanced on all models (4dr Saloon and 5dr Hatchback) with a rear lip spoiler for a completely new design style. Other exterior changes include body coloured side rubbing strip and lower sill extensions, giving a lowered body appearance.
The new fascia design includes four styled circular air vents that give definition and feature to the centre and ends of the fascia, and each finished in chrome. A narrower wood fascia insert dresses the interior appearance for a more subtle interpretation of this traditional Rover feature. The insert is also available in a new range of finishes - burr walnut for the Rover traditionalists, and for Rover customers after something a little more contemporary, light oak and dark oak finishes are also available.
Comfort - Automatic Temperature Control
A key new comfort specification feature introduced on Rover 45 is Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) air conditioning. This luxury feature allows the precise desired temperature of the air conditioning to be set, in Fahrenheit or Centigrade, with an external temperature display and solar sensor compensation. The new control panel is fully integrated in the console. This appealing new feature is standard on Club SE and Connoisseur models and is therefore available from an affordable £12,995.
2004 Rover 45
Convenience - Remote Activated Boot Release
A new feature for the latest Rover 45 is the remote activated boot release feature. This customer convenience feature allows the owner easier access to the boot of the car; by pressing a third button on the remote plip, the driver can release the boot lock while approaching the car. The boot will actually be open by the time they get to the car, and is particularly useful when approaching with either or both hands full.
The interior also features revised columns stalks that have a superior feeling matt finish. The switches used within the revised centre console are soft-touch membrane switches that look and operate in a more positive and modern way.
At service, the program wash / wipe facility can be programmed to vary the number of times the wipers operate after the windscreen wash has finished. A new 'Dribble Wipe' feature is an extra wipe of the screen approximately 4 seconds after the last wipe has occurred, after the program wash wipe, to capture any subsequent water dribble.
Secure Technology Secure - Greater Security and Locking
Auto relocking - if the car is locked / armed and the unlock button pressed, the car will auto lock / rearm if no doors are opened within 30 seconds and assumes the vehicle was unlocked / disarmed accidentally.
Speed locking - doors automatically lock when vehicle speed is greater than 3 mph / 5 km/h. The doors remain locked when the vehicle is stationary and will automatically unlock again when the ignition is turned off. Doors can be unlocked by using the master lock / unlock button.
Rover 45 has a Thatcham Cat. 1 alarm, top level security system and complies with the latest 2004 Security directives. The alarm system uses a battery backed up sounder, located within a shielded enclosure and protected with tamper proof fixings, which will activate if the power supply is tampered with.
Audible mislock - features a short horn sound if door / boot / bonnet are open when the vehicle is locked with the key or remote. The boot is more secure now the key lock is no longer specified and Automatic Engine immobilisation is activated after the ignition is switched off.
Remote locking feature
The new remote plip has a changing lock / unlock code every time it is used. No thief could record (or capture) the code then use it later. A new design of plip now features lock, unlock and remote boot release opening. It can be operated with the alarm armed or disarmed. The alarm rearms when the boot is closed, with hazard warning lamps flashing to indicate this security. The latest plip design has a much enhanced operating range.
Master Locking Switch
This new feature is located amongst the switches in the new centre console. It offers a greater degree of security as the car can instantly lock all of the doors, regardless of ignition or engine state, with a single press of the button. Also included is drive-away locking for occupant security against possible external threats. A panic alarm can be triggered by pressing the Master Locking Switch for over two seconds locking all doors, activating the alarm siren and flashing the hazard lamps and de-activated by another two second press or by pressing the plip unlock button.
Advanced Warning of Traffic Congestion
All UK specification Rover 45 (except the 1.4 Classic) feature the TrafficMaster® Traffic Alert System for congestion avoidance and rear ultrasonic parking distance sensors. No competitors currently apply either of these customer convenience features as extensively within their ranges.
Safety - ABS/EBD
All Rover 45 have ABS (anti lock braking system) and EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) fitted as standard. EBD helps to ensure that the rear brakes contribute as much braking force as possible, equalising the braking forces.
Renowned ride comfort
Rover 45 retains its reputation for occupant comfort with its exceptionally smooth ride comfort, brought about by its wheelbase, longer than many of its immediate competitors. Double wishbone suspension offers high levels of camber compensation and this ensures that the maximum amount of the tyre surface is in contact with the road surface during cornering situations and therefore increasing safety and driver confidence.

Ferrari 575M Maranello
Ferrari 575M Maranello |
Ferrari 575M Maranello
The key elements of the Ferrari 575M Maranello can be neatly summed up in the model name. In fact, the engine is described by the new numerical code, 575, as this is an abbreviated indication of its capacity, increased from 5500 to 5750 cc, resulting in an increase in both power and torque. The letter M, an abbreviation of "modified," underlines the fact that changes have been wrought to all areas of the model's performance. Key amongst these, apart from the engine is the introduction of an F1 type gearbox, first time on a 12 cylinder Ferrari road car.
Styling
When it came to looking at the style of the vehicle, the thinking behind it is to retain the balance and sober looks, which invested it with the status of an instant classic, fitting in perfectly with Ferrari's return to a front engine high performance car. Modifications were limited to those required to deal with the technical changes: different shape and size for the air intakes in the new front end of the car, with refinement of the aerodynamic and fluid-dynamic efficiency and a new treatment for the front spoiler. Finally, the light clusters have been redesigned to produce a new aesthetic, with colour-coded headlamp bodies and grey surround, combined with xenon technology for the dipped beam, with headlamp washers. The wheels are also a new design. On the aerodynamic front, the final iteration brings improved airflow around the wheels and there are small elements which reduce drag, while every detail of the floor has been designed to generate downforce while reducing drag.
2002 Ferrari 575M Maranello
Engine
The 12 cylinder engine in the Ferrari 575M Maranello, maintains the 65 degree V angle, four overhead camshafts, four valves per cylinder, the light alloy block, heads and oil tank and the dry sump lubrication system, with two scavenge pumps and one sender pump, separate reservoir and individual radiators. The objectives fixed for the new V12 engine in the Ferrari 575M Maranello were to increase both the power curve as well as the torque. It now has a maximum power output of 515 CV (379 kW) at 7250 rpm and maximum torque of 60 Kgm (588.6 Nm) at 5250 rpm (588.6 Nm) with an increase in mid-range torque of 1.5 Kgm between 1000 and 4000 rpm, when compared to the previous engine fitted to the Ferrari 550 Maranello. These increases in performance across the board have been achieved through a variety of modifications applied to the 12 cylinder. In particular these are an increase in capacity, a higher compression ratio, new fluid dynamics for the intakes and more general changes aimed at improving the efficiency and the management system of the power unit.
F1 transmission and gearbox
The optimum weight distribution, with a 50-50 split between the axles, with the driver on-board, has been achieved thanks to a transaxle design which features a combined rear mounted gearbox and differential unit with conical torque and autolocking differential in the same unit. The transmission on the Ferrari 575M Maranello is also fitted with the electro-hydraulic "F1" control unit mounted at the rear of the car, in order to minimise response time and to ensure a favourable operating temperature. The F1 gearchange on the Ferrari 575M Maranello has been refined in order to produce maximum efficiency from the use of the manual levers mounted on the back of the steering wheel, as this gives the best response for sports driving. The driver has two main ways of changing gear manually via the console-mounted controls: a more sporty change (Sport) or one aimed at a more relaxed driving style. Both are linked to an analogue control of the suspension damping. The principal benefits of the F1 change on the Ferrari 575M Maranello are a quicker gear change coupled with the control of the damping when gears are selected. Along with the manual F1 change, which Ferrari has produced as the primary use of the electro-actuated transmission, there are two further options which can be selected: automatic and low grip.
Chassis and a new adaptive ride set-up
As for the chassis, one of the factors which has the biggest impact on the car's road-holding is the new adaptive set-up, based on a system of independently controlled damping at all four corners of the car. The system selects the ideal ride height for any condition, with two choices: Sport, which is selected for a more sporty ride, improving traction: Comfort, which gives a more comfortable ride, absorbing road bumps. The braking has also been modified to cope with the increased performance of the vehicle, especially in terms of avoiding fade and improving response under braking. Changes have centred on improving cooling for the brakes with new pad material (Ferodo HP1000;) reduction in brake pedal effort and an increase in the level of assistance from the servo system, and the ABS/ASR system has been uprated from 5.0 to 5.3. As with the rest of the Ferrari range, the electronic traction control can be set between normal and Sport. The unsprung weight has been optimised in the following way: the ABS/ASR sensors are integrated into the wheel bearings and the weight of the tyres and rims has been reduced. These changes have seen the weight of the complete front wheel come down by 1.8 kg and that of the rear by 1.2 kg. The tyres have also evolved and now produce less rolling noise, are longer lasting and perform better in aquaplaning situations. Furthermore, a new tyre, available as an option, has now been produced in a 19 inch size, which is suitable for more extreme performance with improved lateral and longitudinal grip. The Ferrari 575M Maranello is also fitted with tyre pressure sensors, which mean that tyre pressures can be checked while the car is on the move.
Interior and personalised options
The interior of the Ferrari 575M Maranello has been extensively revised, in order to make it more sporty and functional. In keeping with the car's increased performance, the aim has been to improve the efficiency of how the driver controls the car. All the dials have been grouped together in one single pod ahead of the driver, with the rev counter in the centre. The seats are new, with six electronic adjustments and driver position memory. The dashboard and centre tunnel have also been redesigned. Also new are the steering wheel, the door trims and the style of the interior components. The Ferrari 575M Maranello can also be specified to the customer's requirements by Carrozzeria Scaglietti, which allows customers to chose their own styling, equipment and alter the functionality of the vehicle to suit their personal taste, with racing and track options, exterior changes and colours, the treatment of the interior and choice of materials and equipment.

Chevrolet Camaro Convertible Concept
Chevrolet Camaro Convertible Concept |
Chevrolet Camaro Convertible Concept
Series Production confirmed for 2009
The Chevrolet Camaro concept was the celebrated star of the American 2006 auto show season. Now, at the beginning of the 2007 auto show season, there is a new star rising: The Chevrolet Camaro convertible concept. It will be unveiled on the eve of the North American International Auto Show at GM Style, an exclusive, fashion-splashed event combining celebrities, couture and automobiles. Chevrolet already has announced production plans for the Camaro, which will go on sale in the US in 2009. A production convertible model will be added later that year.
The Camaro convertible concept is based on the original Camaro concept, with only minor changes required to accommodate the convertible body style. It shares exterior dimensions with the Camaro concept (L/W/H: 4,730/2,022/1,344 mm), although the convertible concept's windshield surround, which features a bright anodized finish, is changed slightly to accommodate the convertible top. The Camaro convertible concept is motivated by a torquey V-8 engine that rightly sends power to the rear wheels via a manual transmission. It also features a four-wheel independent suspension system and four-wheel disc brakes.
"The best follow-up to last year's award-winning Camaro concept is a Camaro convertible," said Ed Welburn, GM vice president, global design. "The Camaro convertible concept instantly evokes an emotional response - it's a vehicle that you want to make room for in your garage."
2007 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible Concept
Like the Camaro concept vehicle, the Camaro convertible concept blends a dramatic, forward-looking design that is mindful of the brand's storied heritage. That design includes classic long hood/short deck proportions and a wide, wheels-at-the-corners stance that gives the vehicle the look of hugging corners even when stationary.
Additional design details include:
Tonneau cover over the folded top
"Halo" headlamps
LED taillamps
Rear spoiler with LED-lit CHMSL
Racing-inspired fuel filler door
Front-inlet hood scoop, inspired by the Corvette Z06
Heritage-inspired rear fender "gills"
The Camaro convertible concept's Hugger Orange pearl tri-coat color is a contemporary update of the classic hue, which was originally offered in 1969. It is complemented with twin gunmetal gray sport stripes. The modern interpretation of the classic color and its dark accent stripes simultaneously reflect the Camaro's heritage and deliver a deep, lustrous and thoroughly contemporary appearance.
The Camaro convertible concept rides on 21-inch front wheels and 22-inch rear wheels. The wheels have a deep-dish, five-spoke design and feature charcoal center sections with bright outer edges and an orange outline on the wheel edge. The charcoal wheels complement the gunmetal gray stripes on the body.
Inspired cockpit
Inside, the Camaro convertible features a simple yet purposeful interior that reflects design elements inspired by the muscle car era, including the first-generation Camaro. A new, light-and-dark color scheme enhances the airy feel of the convertible, particularly when the top is lowered.
The seats' fronts feature platinum-tone leather surrounding suede-like Alcantara® inserts, with black, sculpted seatbacks. The use of light color only on the seating surface is reminiscent of vintage houndstooth interiors, while a matching, tri-coat platinum paint is used to accent the door panels and instrument panel, giving a modern, bold feel to the interior.
"The light-on-dark interior coloring makes a strong statement that conveys the spirit of freedom and fun that is embodied by a Camaro convertible," said Micah Jones, interior designer.
As with the Camaro coupe concept, the convertible concept features an instrument panel inspired by first-generation Camaros (1967 - 1969), including an intricate "round-gauges-in-square-holes" design. The gauges have a deep, three-dimensional appearance, with white faces and red pointers. "The instrument panel - including the four auxiliary gauges mounted in front of the shifter - pays homage to first-generation Camaros, while achieving a modern appearance through its refined integration of components," said Jones.
Craftsmanship and attention to detail are evidenced throughout the interior, including the smoke satin aluminum finish on trim plates, vents, seat handles and safety belt buckles. The shifter and pedals are made of billet aluminum. The steering wheel has a detailed, deep-dish three-spoke design and the front seats are hinged at the center - rather than the sides - for an integrated appearance. A separate ignition button is used to start the engine and the speedometer and tachometer needles complete full-sweep indexing when the engine rumbles to life.
A "spine" motif runs through the center of the vehicle and on the seatbacks, including a prominent center console that stretches to the rear seat. The spine reinforces the symmetry of the Camaro convertible, as well as its precision.
An attainable icon
The original Camaro was introduced to the Baby Boomer generation, a large group of young, individualistic and mobile Americans that drove fundamental changes in the auto industry. The Camaro was personal, sporty and powerful - attributes that were typically found on more expensive, smaller and, often, foreign sports cars. The Camaro represented a real life-sized sporty car that was attainable for just about everyone. An almost endless list of optional features, colors and trim combinations ensured owners could tailor their Camaro to their exact taste.
As Boomers transitioned into larger vehicles to accommodate growing families, younger drivers embraced used Camaros as their first cars, and third- and fourth-generations of the Camaro continued to deliver affordable fun and performance to a new generation of enthusiasts. Indeed, hundreds of thousands of owners of all walks of life have found driving fun in a Camaro during the past 40 years.
The new Camaro concepts draw on their namesakes' heritage, but also the global, youthful influences of the 21st century. These influences are seen in the Camaro convertible concept's bold proportions, tailored wheel-to-body relationship and detailed interior - including the multi-dimensional instruments. It's a design that resonates with a generation of younger car buyers influenced by highly stylized "tuner" cars and import sports cars.
"Youthful buyers want a car that makes a statement in its design as much as its performance," said Brian Smith, exterior designer. "The new Camaro concepts bridge heritage with contemporary style, with a design that is simultaneously admired among import-influenced youth and traditional enthusiasts."
Along with style and performance, the timeless spirit of fun is woven into the new Camaro concepts.
"Camaro has always represented the American ethic that style and performance don't belong exclusively to the wealthy," said Smith. "Camaro has always been everybody's sports car, and these new concepts demonstrate its spirit is relevant for a new generation."

Cadillac CTS-V
Cadillac CTS-V |
Cadillac CTS-V
As the new CTS sport sedan earns accolades and new owners, Cadillac takes the next leap forward by premiering the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V, the brand's ultimate expression of performance and luxury.
Launching in the fourth quarter of 2008, the all-new Cadillac CTS-V intends to combine the serious performance of an elite sports car with the poise and elegance of a prestigious luxury sedan. Part of Cadillac's acclaimed V-Series of high-performance models, CTS-V delivers an estimated 550 horsepower (410 kW). More than just power, CTS-V also includes a comprehensive suite of technical and design enhancements, including Magnetic Ride Control, an industry-first Performance Traction Management program and the addition of a new automatic transmission with paddle-shift control.
"The CTS-V represents the full extension of our design, technology and performance capabilities," says Jim Taylor, Cadillac general manager. "The V-Series takes the award-winning CTS sport sedan and elevates it to a position within the club of the world's most exclusive and capable cars."
As an all-new version of the CTS sport sedan was prepared for 2008, Cadillac engineers and designers began to scheme a new CTS-V that would reach much higher in terms of performance and luxury. Through the original CTS-V, Cadillac proved it could develop a very potent, high-performance sedan. The challenge for the 2009 model was enhancing every aspect in a comprehensive manner, along with reaching higher performance limits.
2009 Cadillac CTS-V
Several key technical and design elements combine to transform the already highly capable CTS into the new V-Series. Like the existing CTS, the V-Series is the product of an intensive development process across North America and Europe, including famed test tracks and millions of miles of road. Supporting Cadillac's ongoing global expansion, the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V is planned to be offered outside North America for the first time, including exports to Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Sophisticated technical enhancements
The 2009 Cadillac CTS-V features the world's fastest-reacting suspension technology, Magnetic Ride Control (MRC). It uses shocks controlled by electro-magnets, rather than mechanical valves, greatly accelerating response time. Electronic sensors at all four wheels literally "read the road" every millisecond, making constant adjustments to damping to create virtually instantaneous and extremely precise control of body motions. This is of particular benefit for a high-performance sedan, helping to keep the car very composed during hard cornering, acceleration, braking and other dynamic maneuvers.
MRC technology first appeared on the Cadillac STS performance sedan and has been used on some of the world's most celebrated cars, including the Chevrolet Corvette and a select few European sports cars.
Enabling the precise control expected in a high-performance sedan, the CTS-V features Performance Traction Management system, borrowed from championship racing teams. This technology uses advanced electronics to manage engine torque for optimal traction during acceleration. In situations such as acceleration from a stop or exiting corners, Performance Traction Management regulates torque delivery for the best possible launch.
Performance Traction Management uses the same sort of electronics as stability control programs such as Cadillac's StabiliTrak system, but applies it in a different manner. Rather than monitoring and controlling wheel slip to assist in stopping or slowing the car, PTM regulates torque delivery to instantly match the available tire grip for maximum acceleration.
CTS-V also includes sophisticated braking and tire systems, in partnership with two companies renown for high-performance technology: Brembo and Michelin. Brembo brakes are at all four corners and include powerful, six-piston calipers in the front and four-piston calipers in the rear. Michelin worked with Cadillac engineers to develop its acclaimed Pilot Sport 2 (PS2) summer tire for Cadillac CTS-V and its 19-inch wheels.
And, of course, there is the matter of power. It has increased nearly 35 percent for the '09 CTS-V, via a new 6.2L LSA supercharged V-8 engine generating an estimated 550 hp (410 kW) and 550 lb.-ft. (745 Nm) of torque. The engine delivers this power with remarkable refinement. A sixth-generation Eaton supercharger minimizes the added noise previously associated with supercharged engines, and tightly controls intake air temperature for optimal performance.
Transmission choices include either a six-speed manual or an exclusive, six-speed automatic with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. It is the first automatic offered on the CTS-V.
Accentuated design elements
The 2009 CTS-V extends Cadillac's acclaimed design language, both inside and out. The V-Series includes all the elements of the CTS sport sedan's well received cabin, while adding some elegant and purposeful accents.
V-Series will offer Recaro performance driving seats, providing excellent support for spirited driving and adding to the luxurious and purposeful interior. These new, 14-way adjustable performance seats include pneumatic bolster controls in the seat cushion and backrest.
A microfiber material is added to the steering wheel, seats and shifter, providing the soft feel and luxurious appearance of suede without suede's inherent drawbacks of difficult care and moisture sensitivity. These accents on the steering wheel, seat inserts and shifter are elegant to the touch and help support high-performance driving.
The car's integrated center stack is trimmed with a new Obsidian material that is also applied to the center console and door trim. Just like every CTS, the V-Series includes a hand-stitched instrument panel, door trim and center console. Leading-edge infotainment features, including a 40-gigabyte hard drive, advanced navigation system with a "pop-up" screen and Bose digital surround audio, extend to the V-Series, as well as factory-installed Bluetooth capability.
The exterior of the new Cadillac CTS-V amplifies the assertive stance and elegant details of the standard car, and communicates the car's remarkable capabilities. The dihedral Cadillac grille is larger to enable more air intake and features a satin finish. The raised hood encompasses the supercharged engine, and new front and rear fascias identify the vehicle as a V-Series. The car's 19-inch wheels enhance its stance on the road.
The founding member of the V-Series, Cadillac CTS-V was initially offered in 2004 and sold primarily in North America through the 2007 model year. The supercharged STS-V and XLR-V were added in 2006 to make the V-Series an exclusive trio of models all capable of zero-to-60 acceleration in less than five seconds with enhanced overall performance and luxury features.

FPV BF MkII Super Pursuit
FPV BF MkII Super Pursuit |
FPV BF MkII Super Pursuit
Ford Performance Vehicles has increased the visual presence of its vehicles with the new BF model range, introducing a bold new styling theme that provides greater distinction between Boss 290 V8-powered and F6 270 Turbo-powered vehicles.
New-look front bumpers on all models feature an aggressive race-inspired lip surrounding the larger lower air intake, which is replicated in a similar fashion surrounding a new-look opening in the rear bumpers of all sedans. This is combined with stylish new-design auxiliary driving lights.
The unique styling theme provides FPV with greater exclusivity as well as the flexibility to customise the design for individual models.
To complement the new styling, all Boss 290-powered vehicles receive 19-inch alloy wheels as standard fitment, including a new design on the range-topping GT-P and Super Pursuit models, while the GT and GT-P are also fitted with a traditional muscle car-inspired twin exhaust system. All Boss 290-powered models also feature a broader selection of new-design optional side stripe and hood decal packages.
"Our customers loved the race-inspired styling of the BA GT and the technical detail we applied to give the F6 Typhoon and F6 Tornado a unique look," said David Flint, Managing Director of Ford Performance Vehicles.
"With the new BF models, we have taken the opportunity to give our vehicles even greater road presence and, at the same time, create distinct visual differences between our Boss 290 V8 models and F6 variants."

EXTERIOR STYLING
The new-look BF range from FPV builds on the success of its predecessors with an evolutionary step forward in design.
The new-look front bumpers further enhance the traditional performance car styling of the Boss 290 V8-powered vehicles with a larger and more pronounced lower air intake featuring the race-inspired three-slot spoiler.
Introducing an element of classic styling alongside the aggressive design are new-look fog lamps. These lights feature a satin alloy surround on GT and Pursuit with black integrated flutes, while GT-P and Super Pursuit build on the premium theme of the range-topping models with satin alloy surrounds and flutes that complement the standard satin alloy grille mesh.
Both the GT and GT-P now feature their respective model's badges in the upper air intake within the front bumper: a design cue reminiscent of the classic GTs of the 1960s and 1970s.
The F6 Typhoon and F6 Tornado also carry the aggressive new look, but with a unique lower air intake design that features reverse angle pillars to accentuate the silver intercooler behind the Technik grille mesh. Both the F6 Typhoon and F6 Tornado feature exclusive design auxiliary driving lights with colour coded inserts. These styling elements give a dramatically different look to the F6 models compared to GT, GT-P, Pursuit and Super Pursuit.
The pronounced intake surround continues through to the rear bumpers on all sedan variants with a signature three-slot extraction design. The grille mesh in each model also replicates the front bumper: black in GT, satin alloy in GT-P and silver in F6 Typhoon.
Sonar-activated reverse-parking sensors are now fitted as standard equipment in the flagship GT-P and available as an option for the first time on GT and F6 Typhoon with an RRP of $650.
All FPV sedans gain the new jewel-effect tail lights introduced across all Falcon models in the BF range.
Enhancing the more aggressive styling, all FPV Boss 290 V8-powered models are now fitted with 19-inch alloy wheels as standard equipment. The BF GT and Pursuit come with the five-spoke alloy wheel previously available exclusively on BA GT-P and Super Pursuit, while the flagship variants receive a new-design five-spoke alloy wheel with a raised spine in the centre of each spoke and a machined outer rim.
The wheels have been designed to accentuate the power and presence of the Brembo brakes that are now standard on all FPV models.
The double five-spoke alloy wheel with gun metal shadow rims on the F6 Typhoon and F6 Tornado are carried through with the new BF model. However, a unique 19-inch alloy will be available as an option on F6 models with an exclusive gun metal shadow design and machined outer rim. This option has a RRP of $2400.
FPV has introduced a new-design lockable hard tonneau cover for its Ute range with an aggressive power bulge in the centre that continues the muscular performance characteristics generated by the bonnet bulge in the Pursuit and Super Pursuit. This hard tonneau cover is standard equipment on the flagship Super Pursuit and available as an option on the Pursuit and F6 Tornado with a recommended retail price of $2710.
Providing its customers with an even wider range of options to personalise their vehicle, a new three-piece hard tonneau cover with integrated alloy sports bar is available for the first time. This option has a recommended retail price of $1050 in lieu of the standard hard tonneau cover on the flagship Super Pursuit and available as a stand alone option on the F6 Tornado and Pursuit with a recommended retail price of $3750.
FPV owners will be offered even more ways to customise their vehicle, with a new-design side stripe and hood decal package available as an option on GT, GT-P, Pursuit and Super Pursuit.
The new-look stripes feature a solid middle stripe with a smaller key-line stripe on either side that also wraps around on the rear bumper section, providing a more dynamic look. The design of the Boss 290 hood decal fitted to the sides of the bonnet bulge remain as it was introduced on the BA MkII models.
A wider selection of stripe colour and exterior colour choices have been introduced with the BF range, including new gold stripes. The stripe package is a no-cost option on GT-P and Super Pursuit and has a recommended retail price of $595 as an option on GT and Pursuit. The Boss 290 Hood Decal can be fitted without the stripe package and has an RRP of $195.
The new stripes coincide with the introduction of a number of exclusive performance hero colours: Bionic, Toxic and DeJaVu.
Bionic is a bold new non-metallic blue inspired by the iconic True Blue that was popular on XY GT Falcons while Toxic is a bright acidic green - similar to Citric Acid that was popular in the original BA series - and is close to the Lime Glaze colour that was available on XA GT Falcons. DeJaVu, which is due to begin production in December, is a new dark metallic green.
INTERIOR UPGRADES
The feature-filled cabin in all FPV models has received a number of improvements with the introduction of the new BF range.
Complementing the satin alloy interior features such as the Interior Command Centre and gear lever surrounds, the door trims now carry the same premium highlight on the grab handles with a soft-feel material. The performance seats in all models now feature Satin Alloy contrast stitching with the FPV logo embroidered in the headrests.
A luxury interior pack is available as an option on the F6 Tornado Ute for the first time, incorporating dual zone climate control with large TFT colour screen Interior Command Centre and Premium sound with a six-disc in-dash CD player. This option has a recommended retail price of $1500.
